Location: Centennial Trail, South Dakota
Logistic Details: I started this hike at the southern terminus at Norbek Dam trailhead and finished at the northern terminus in Bear Butte State Park. This time of year was recommended to me by a previous thru hiker due to the mild weather, water sources, and lack of bugs and ticks. Indeed it was great in all those respects. I took a nero and picked up my resupply at Whispering Pines Campground a little over half way through the trail. The trail is 124 miles long.
