Dates: 29 March - 4 April
Location: AZT from Kearny to Roosevelt Lake (81 miles)
Logistic Details: I parked my Jeep in Kearny, coordinating with the Police Department on the best location (they let me park in a secure lot behind the police/fire station). I got a ride from a trail angel to the trailhead near Kelvin Bridge. At the end of the trip, I got a ride from a fellow hiker from Roosevelt back to Kearny (about a 90 minute drive). The weather was colder than expected; I could have used an extra layer and a warmer sleeping quilt; but, not a big deal. The first few days were hot, the last few days were cool. I could have resupplied in Superior, but chose to do a full food carry for the entire trip; mostly to save time and expenses. I could have carried a lighter weight food bag, as bears are very uncommon in this section, but again - not a big deal.
