In many cases hikers will only need the common .2 micron filter or some Aquatabs for their back country water purification. But there are some areas in which we hike where our water sources could potentially be contaminated with dangerous chemicals or heavy metals, be overly thick with particulates (very murky water), or carry odors that “normal” filters can not remove. So what are our options?
