Crispy Berry and Nut Roll

What else can we do with fruits and nuts?  Eating the same thing often enough on the trail with grow into a loathing. To avoid the monotony, let's change it up a bit with different ratios and textures. 

Ingredients
1 cup dried apricots
1/2 cup dried cherries
1/2 cup raw, toasted, and chopped almonds
1/2 bag crushed pretzels

At Home

Using a food processor, blend fruits until it turns into a paste. Mix in the chopped almonds. Shape combined ingredients into a log.  Roll the log over the crushed pretzels until a thick firm crust has formed.  Wrap log in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least two hours to allow it firm.  

On the Trail

Slice roll into medallions and marvel at your ability to create awesome trail food that's not boring.
